So it’s -14 degrees with the wind chill tonight… Ridiculous. If you sit too close to the window you start freezing, it sucks. So I got bored and decided to break out the strobes and play around for a while… Photos below, for strobist info (for you camera nerds) you can click the link below to go to the album.

P.S. I will be out of town from the 27th-8th with Fare Thee Well, so ummm, just thought you’d all love to know that haha… I’m looking into setting up some sort of mobile blog while we’re on the road, or maybe I’ll just update this from the road, butttt I doubt that I wanna do that. Hmmm more to come on that soon.

So tonight I (Tony) shot photos of the second person to jump on our end of the year portrait session special (read below for details), my close and dear friend Kelly Shoe. Kelly and I have know each other for quite some time and she has always been one of the nicest and friendliest girls I’ve ever known. Taking photos of her was a real treat as we laughed and joked around the whole time. We shot the photos in the back of Sapphire Lounge next to the freezer, and despite it being cold back there she still let me hit her with a fan for a little bit, she was a real trooper. This series was an absolute blast and I look forward to working with Ms. Shoe again. Check out my favorites of the shoot below, and click the link to see the full set. P.S. Thanks to Jesse Garcia at Sapphire Lounge for letting us use his space.

Right now we are offering for a very limited time, free portrait sessions of individuals. In other words, you have from now till December 31st to schedule a date for us to take a series of portraits for you. We won’t charge you anything except if you decide you want prints, those you have to pay for obviously. What do you get from these freebie sessions? A password protected web gallery on our print ordering partner site in which you can view your photos and select ones you would like to order for prints, or give the password to family members and let them go to town on it. We also will shrink down the photos, watermark them, and upload them to our flickr site and showcase them on our page here. You are more than welcome to save the photos off of flickr and use them with the watermarks for your personal use (ie myspace/facebook/etc.). If you have any questions or would like to schedule something, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will allow you up till January 31st to schedule a time and date, but we will stop booking the freebie shoots as of December 31st! Act fast! Tell your friends!

Was browsing the strobist.com photoblog… Not sure how I over looked this back in July, but damn this is sick.

Tonight I (Tony) had the great pleasure of shooting photos of my good friend Jon (aka Rookie). Jon is a very smart young man with a bright future ahead of him for sure. He currently is attending Mizzou and works his butt off as a bar tender at Campus Bar and Grill downtown. If you’re ever out and about, stop on in and visit him, grab a drink, and have a good time. We shot these photos in his apartment and we bother were extremely pleased with the final turnout of everything. Let us know what you think! Below is a link to the full album on flickr, and the 5 shots I liked the most from the shoot.

As many know, Alex and I have decided to start a photography business. We finally got our act together and started making things happen. A good friend of mine, and a fellow photographer, Colin Webb, suggested the name Time Frames Collective to us… I liked it, it sounded sophisticated, classy, and not cheesy like Captured Moments (which was our original first idea). A picture is a moment in time captured, or framed… Pictures also are normally placed in frames, and the work is a collective effort between both Alex and myself, so the name just fit. I spent all afternoon/evening getting a site up and running and it can now be found at www.tfcphoto.com… There is still a lot of tweaking and whatnot to be done, but regardless of that, the ball has started rolling.

In other news, I helped my Mother put the Christmas tree up today, and took the opportunity to shoot some photos of us while we did it… Most of the photos came out crappy (in my mind), but I did get a couple cool ones of us in front of it when we were done. Check out the photos below for the two shots I liked, plus a shot of how I set up the lighting…

The final shot I have in this update was just a quick hand held low light shot I snapped the other night of a loan guy walking down an alley downtown. I don’t know what it was about the image, but it just jumped out at me and I was glad I happened to have my camera on me at the time.

It was quite a night of quick dinner, quick drinking, quick passing out, but I managed to snap some shots before I had to take off to handle some personal matters. Check the favorite shots below, then click the link to go view the whole album.
