Yesterday I had the day off and I met up with friend and fellow photographer Corey Hale to shoot some portraits of each other and just mess around with lighting. We met up in the tunnels where I shot the photos of Jessica Ahlborn about 2 months ago. Our friend Liz accompanied us and we had a fun time down in the gross and dingy sewers. I shot a few photos and put them up onĀ my flickr.
Today I hung out with my friend Brooke again. We went and checked out the nature trails out by the Devil’s Icebox. After the Devil’s Icebox we picked up Laura and then Brooke got tattooed at Hollywood Rebel Tattoo by my boy Gabe Garcia. Brooke wasn’t as shocked today when I started shooting pictures of her, and she looked gorgeous. We had a ton of fun like always, and I can’t wait for the next photo adventure.
Check out the slideshow below, it goes in reverse order, and/or click the link below the slideshow to view the album on flickr.
Here are just a few recent shots I’ve taken that I like. I’ve also recently come to the conclusion that I hate the look of watermarks. Hopefully if people use my photos, they will give credit in their captions on myspace/facebook whatever… Click the images to see them larger yada yada yada.
Friday my good friends from Take Control were in town to play a show. 6 bands on the bill, unfortunately I could only shoot the first four bands. Nothing to Nothing played their first show, and I must say I think everyone was really stoked. Check out their demo, it’s up in their player on their myspace. Outlive Outlast and Just Do It came to town for the show also and played just as good as they always do. Unfortunately I missed Scouts due to some work things, and I didn’t have time to shoot Fare Thee Well’s set (who also absolutely murdered it). Links to the bands are below the photo of my main man Doyle from Take Control hate stomping his way to another insane set.
Well the article about me came out today in VOX. For anyone local to the Columbia area you can grab VOX for free downtown in a number of different kiosks or other places (such as Slackers). For anyone not local, you can read the article here. Thanks to everyone at VOX involved with the article. I’m flattered to be called “adorkable,” hahaha.
So on Saturday I had the great pleasure of shooting photos of my boy Steddy P at Mojos for the True/False Film Fest party. I strobed the show like I’ve done the last few, with an SB600, and SB800, and triggered with CLS from my D300. Check the slide show below and the link to the actual set underneath the slide show.
Today I had the day off and decided to go on a “photo adventure.” I invited my friend Brooke along, and we headed off down 63. After a little brainstorming I realized today would be the perfect day to go down to the Lake of the Ozarks and check out the lake view patio where I’ll be shooting a wedding in July. I wanted to know exactly what the location was going to look like before I was surprised by anything on the big day. After that I went to check out a spot that overlooks part of the lake and I don’t think Brooke knew I intended to take photos of her, because quite honestly I find shooting photos of landscapes to be rather boring unless it’s a sunset or sunrise. She handled it like a trooper, and I was really happy with the final takes. She’s too cute, but like a typical girl, hates photos of herself. Oh well! Big shout to Brooke, the best road trip partner ever, can’t wait for next time. “Sorry I actually get jiggy with it” – Brooke. Slide show and link to the set are below as usual!
