My mom got a new kitten so I swooped by her house the other day to take a couple pics of him.

Found these photos of my friends in Long Nights when they played upstairs at our shop a few months ago.

I’ve been out of business cards for about 7 or 8 months now and have needed to design a new one and get them printed. I finally sat down and threw the front and back for a new card together the other day and dropped the designs off at the printers. I just picked them up today and I’m pretty stoked on them. Hopefully 500 will last me a while.

Last year I made a little “year in photos” at the end of ’08. This year I forgot, so I made one today, but it’s def got some photos from Jan and Feb of ’10… Oh well. Enjoy.

The other night Alex had a shoot with his friends Tom and Kelly and their dogs at the columns on the Mizzou campus. Check out the photos on his photostream on flickr at http://www.flickr.com/amhaycock. I came along to help out, and snapped some photos while I was trying to stay warm. (Click the photos to enlarge).

    Alex setting up a flash.

Then I shot this photo of my shadow and I got an idea for a shot.

    The shot was this…

Then I jumped in on shoot real quick, kind of unannounced and snapped off one shot I liked. The white balance was totally off but I kind of liked it, so I uploaded the “mess up” and the corrected white balance version.

The shop minimum at Iron Tiger Tattoo is a measly $50, but if you have a party of 6 or more sorority girls who are getting tattoos that would normally only be $50, Gabe Garcia (the owner) will do them for $30 a piece. Tonight we had 8 girls from the Delta Gamma sorority come in and get inner lip tattoos. Gabe and I ran it non-stop and he laced them all up in under an hour. I took a couple photos, and we all had a good time. (Click the photos to enlarge them)

My friend Justin Scott recently picked up two copies of The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light From Small Flashes, and sold me one of the copies. I’ve been browsing through it for the last few days, and man, it is awesome. I especially enjoy that Joe wrote it to entertaining and informative. It’s definitely not like most photo books you pick up that feel like reading a glorified manual or a text book. It’s entertaining and enlightening. If you are a photographer and are looking to get some creative and informative ideas for lighting using small strobes, get on this book asap.
