Recently I’ve gotten back into the gym, with some motivation from Dan, I’m back on my way to getting back into shape. Last summer I was lifting and working out every day and was really happy with myself. Unfortunately in the fall I fell off and stopped working out throughout the winter. Now I’m back, and feeling good again.
On a different page, go see Hot Tub Time Machine if you haven’t. That movie is fucking hilarious. Dan and I went yesterday after the Death Threat show was canceled in Lawrence.
And finally I’m headed to Vegas on Wednesday to see my girl. I can’t wait. I’ll be there for a week.

I’ve been drawing a lot more recently, something about the weather warming up sparks the creative (graffiti) genes in me… I’ve really been wanting to explore new mediums, I really want to try painting with water colors as well as doing more Mike Giant inspired type stuff. For anyone who doesn’t know, Mike Giant is the creative force behind Rebel 8.

I’ve also been way stoked on the tattoos of Valerie Vargas recently. Her girls are beautiful.

I’ve been out of business cards for about 7 or 8 months now and have needed to design a new one and get them printed. I finally sat down and threw the front and back for a new card together the other day and dropped the designs off at the printers. I just picked them up today and I’m pretty stoked on them. Hopefully 500 will last me a while.

It got moved to Cafe Berlin, and honestly, for a venue, this place is pretty decent.

Yesterday Gabe and I took a little trip down to the lake to visit antique stores to see if we could find some cool stuff for the shop when we open up the other side. We found this little place called Richard’s Relic Shake down on Bagnell Dam that was loaded with cool stuff.
I found this bazooka and wanted to buy it for our gun nut shop manager Lee, but $800 was just a little too much.
Then I stumbled across these old bottles upstairs in a window and it made me think of my Dad, he loves to go bottle digging. We found a bunch of cool stuff but nothing really jumped out at us until we were walking downstairs to head back out.
That’s when we saw this boar and Gabe had to have it. Unfortunately Richard wasn’t in yet to discuss the price, so we decided to come back later after checking out some other shops and visiting a friend at Fat Tobes tattoo. Gabe bought a couple old sheets of flash, I ran over a small boulder with his car, we ate at a restaurant where throwing your peanut shells on the floor was acceptable but only lead to mischief, and managed to get pulled over twice in a span of twenty minutes for expired tags. Finally Gabe talked to Richard and we went home with the boar.

Today I went with my mom to put our cat of almost 16 years to sleep. He was suffering from cancer. When we picked him out from the humane society he was only a few weeks old and they had been calling him Roger, we changed his name to Riley when we took him home. Soon he earned a nickname which stuck, Scoop. He used to scoop his food out of his bowl and eat it off the top of the dryer where we kept his food bowls. He also never drank from his own water dish, but instead insisted on drinking out of the bucket our dog used. When the water would get too low for him to reach his head in, he would stick his paw in then lick the water off his paw. He was by no means small, and by no means an ordinary cat. He often weighed close to 20 pounds, and thought he was a dog. He played catch, and would come when he was called. Scoop, you will forever be in my mind and heart. Rest in peace buddy.

My cousin is now engaged, and so are two of my best friends from high school (who I helped set up in high school). Holy shit, I am feeling old all of a sudden.
