So last week I went to Kansas City to check out some schools, maybe shoot some photos, and party as much as possible. I stayed with my friend Andy and had a blast. Andy is scared of the camera (until she’s drunk, then she’s the model and the photographer all night it seems), so not too many photos were taken. Besides, we were in a heated competition most of the time I was there, and you can’t stop to smell the roses when you’re playing for keeps. I did manage to shoot about 15 photos haha, and of those I happy with two. I can’t wait to go back to KC again, I had a ton of fun, sober and drunk.

So tonight I (Tony) shot photos of the second person to jump on our end of the year portrait session special (read below for details), my close and dear friend Kelly Shoe. Kelly and I have know each other for quite some time and she has always been one of the nicest and friendliest girls I’ve ever known. Taking photos of her was a real treat as we laughed and joked around the whole time. We shot the photos in the back of Sapphire Lounge next to the freezer, and despite it being cold back there she still let me hit her with a fan for a little bit, she was a real trooper. This series was an absolute blast and I look forward to working with Ms. Shoe again. Check out my favorites of the shoot below, and click the link to see the full set. P.S. Thanks to Jesse Garcia at Sapphire Lounge for letting us use his space.

Tonight I (Tony) had the great pleasure of shooting photos of my good friend Jon (aka Rookie). Jon is a very smart young man with a bright future ahead of him for sure. He currently is attending Mizzou and works his butt off as a bar tender at Campus Bar and Grill downtown. If you’re ever out and about, stop on in and visit him, grab a drink, and have a good time. We shot these photos in his apartment and we bother were extremely pleased with the final turnout of everything. Let us know what you think! Below is a link to the full album on flickr, and the 5 shots I liked the most from the shoot.

    New D300

    Posted in: Photography

So my friend Alex and I have officially started a photography business. The website will be up and running in a few days. We ordered a bunch of new gear and it all came in yesterday, so all day yesterday I was playing with my new Nikon D300. Wow it’s sick. I shot a few hundred photos yesterday using a few different lenses and an SB-900. Last night my friends in Scouts opened up for Taking Back Sunday at the Blue Note, and after the show we all partied at Sapphire Lounge. Scouts, Taking Back Sunday, and the other band (whose name slips my memory right now) were all there dancing and partying too. Check out some of my favorite shots from yesterday below, or just go to the album and look through them all.
