    USA Theme Party

So last night I went to my friend’s Corey, Sam, and Chase’s place for a “Party In The USA” theme party. They had a DJ and shit got real wild. After the party I headed back downtown to my apartment where a raging after bars party was taking place. More photos and links to the sets after the link…

Last week was so busy. Work, two shows in two different cities, a photoshoot on Thursday, work, and Oktoberfest (pics in next update). Thursday’s shoot was with radtanktops.com… They’re a custom screen printing company that just started up here in town. I’m helping them build a website soon where they can sell their designs and you can also place orders for custom work. They wanted everyone to just be wearing plain colored shirts, tank tops, and v-necks for the shoot. Some (a lot) of these images will also be used on their website that’s in the works. We had originally planned for an outdoor shoot which involved some cool locations and a trampoline, but mother nature in her typical fashion, decided to rain on our parade. So we shot some indoors shots, and a few in the alley behind my apartment during a break in the down pour. More pictures after the jump.

Today was such a nice day, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to hang out with a friend and shoot some photos. So I picked up my friend Caleb and we went out to some rail road tracks outside of town and had a fun little photo/chat session. Nothing too ground breaking, just felt like shooting some photos.

Camera Nerd Info: Strobed it with an SB800 and a Pentax AF540FGZ triggered with poverty wizards.

I saw my friend Justin do this on his site, so I’ll give it a shot.

Well yesterday was the Super Bowl. My boys up above El Rancho and Slackers threw one hell of a Super Bowl party. It easily put every other house party I’ve been to in the last few years to shame. 3 kegs, countless bottles of Champagne, cases of Red Bull, bottles upon bottles of Vodka, and copius amounts of other alcoholic beverages were laid to waste by the legions of party goers yesterday. In traditional artripoli.com style I brought the camera, and with a little brainstorming with my main man Vega, we took party photos in Columbia to a new level. We set up a little “photo booth” in one of the rooms and shot some studio style shots of everyone having too much fun on Billy’s couch. Steelers won the game, and most everyone was disappointed (a lot of people rooting for the Cardinals yesterday). After the game we floated the last keg and then headed for the bars. Normally on Sundays here in Columbia the bars close at midnight, but yesterday was a bar holiday and they stayed open till 1:30am… All in all, an amazing night, and a bunch of fun photos were taken.

As usual, I put a few of my favorites in the post, with a link to the full album below.

So today I wake up and check the usuals (gmail, myspace, facebook, flickr, etc.) and in my inbox on myspace is a letter from my good friend Randie, aka Roxie from Q106.

so i bought a GLITTER GUN!
it shoots puffs of confetti everywhere and
its the raddest thing ive ever seen....
AAAAND I wanna do a photo sesh with it. in ACTION!
Ill give you --- to shoot me. and then another ---
on the 15th if you want.
(tony: none of your business what I made)
i was thinking a rather simple background.
indoor preferabbly cause its fucking cold.
    any ideas?!?!?!?!

Well immediately I responded that I’d love to do it. As the day wore on we found out the local big concert venue here in town was not being used tonight. Randie sometimes bar tends there, so she was able to talk to her manager who let us in to shoot some photos on the stage of her and her glitter gun. It was a blast, and after she was out of rounds for her gun we took a few fun shots by the bar. Check out the shots/album below. We also took two shots I photoshop’d into one. I hope you enjoy.

Well Thursday Bri finally dinged 21. So we celebrated, they started early at Hemmingways, and then we all met up at Big 12 (aka Campus Bar and Grill), then moved on to Tonic, then ended back a Big 12. After the bash she headed home and I headed back to Vega, Billy, Al, Rookie, and Pat’s place above Slackers. After bars got a little nuts when everyone decided that dancing on Vega’s bed was a good call. His bed is now in pieces, but hey, we at least had a blast right? Then Friday night rolled around, the boys above Slackers were throwing a pre-bar kegger with their neighbors across the hall, so I rolled over there. We proceeded to float the keg in about 90 minutes tops and then decided that rolling it down the stairs was a great idea. Once the fun of throwing a keg down two flights of stairs had worn off we headed to Big 12, from there we checked out the new upstairs bar and patio at Quintons, and then made our way to Harpos. I ended the night at my boy Mac’s house for some after bars and then got a ride home. What a great weekend.
